Dakhla is a city located in Western Sahara - territory disputed and not autonomous according to the UN - and under de facto administration of Morocco since 1975.
In the framework of the Moroccan administration, this city is an urban commune (municipality), chief- place of the province of Oued Ed Dahab, in the Dakhla-Oued Ed Dahab region.
It is known for its tourist attractions and ranked since 2014 leading water sports spots on a global scale.
